What is the relationship between mindfulness and self awareness?

This chapter discusses the concepts of mindfulness and self awarness which could be slightly different definitions but at the end is almost the same thing.

Try at least one of the self awareness practices from the chapter (Body Scan, Journaling). What was your experience of it? How did you feel?

I am trying body scan everytime I practice meditation. I start scanning my head first, then gently I move down to my face, neck and shoulders, chest and back, legs and feets. Everytime I am doing this I am trying to just notice the feeling in my body, I am not trying to focusing on thinking to much in that part of my body, just noticing the feeling of comfort or dicomfort, tiredness or strengthness. I really enjoy the relaxation that comes from it.

What did you take away from the "My Emotions are Not Me" section?

“My Emotions are Not Me” I like this. I think this would be really helpful in stress periods. I will practice this every time I feel frustration, stress or anger…
